Operation Rising Star winner Joyce Dodson began her newfound professional singing career--
--recording a 3-song gospel CD at DMI Studios in Southern California.
Dodson worked with producers whose clientele include Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, and Patti Austin.
The 25-year-old Danville, Virginia, native won the military singing competition as the wife of Army Sergeant Marquis Dodson.
In addition to recording her very own demo, Dodson attended the recent Grammy Awards--
--and got back to her gospel roots, singing in a Black History Month concert at a church in Santa Barbara.
Operation Rising Star is open to all military members and their families.
Last year was the first time they opened up the competition to family members.
