Authenticate at the Printer by swiping your Deakin Card or entering your Deakin username and password using the touch panel.
Select Use Device Functions.
Place your original document face up in the document feeder or face down on the glass.
To scan an item directly to your email, Select the Scanner button on the left hand side of the control panel.
Ensure the Scan to me button is highlighted.
Adjust the scan settings as required.
And set the Original Feed Type.
In this example the original document is 2-sided.
Press the Start key and the files will be sent as attachments to your inbox.
To Scan to a USB Memory Device, select the Scanner button on the left hand side of the control panel.
Insert your USB device.
Select Store File and ensure Store to Memory Device is highlighted.
Press OK.
Press the Start key and the document will be scanned to your USB device as a PDF document.
For Advanced Scanning to Email, select Advanced Scanning.
You are presented with 4 options.
PDF creates an image based PDF version of your document.
Searchable PDF uses Optical Character Recognition (or OCR) to create an editable version of your document in PDF format.
Word uses OCR to create an editable version of your document in Rich Text Format.
Excel uses OCR to create an editable version of a table or spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel format.
Select the desired format for your Scan.
If required add a Document Name.
And where necessary adjust the Scan Settings.
Press the Start key and the files will be sent as attachments to your inbox.
Don't forget to collect your originals and ensure you log out of the device.
