There is a 14-mile bike path that runs along the Orange Line. The bike path meets up with
the bus way at Chandler and Ethel and is joined by an eight-mile pedestrian path and continues
to Balboa and Victory. The bike path then leaves the bus way of Balboa and Victory to
travel through Balboa Park. It rejoins the bus way at White Oak and continues to Varial.
There are bike lockers at each station, which can be rented for a monthly fee. To get more
information on the bike lockers, visit http://www.Metro.net.
It’s very important that people using the pedestrian or bike path make sure that they
look both ways before they cross the bus way or the streets near the Orange Line. Please
obey all traffic signals and look both ways before you cross any street.
At the pedestrian crosswalk and Chandler and Goodland Avenue and at Chandler and Agnes
Avenue, you need to press several buttons to cross the Orange Line safely. First, you
press the button to cross the street. When you reach the bus way, you need to press the
button again to walk safely across the bus way. After crossing the bus way, you need
to press another button to cross the street.
At Ethel Street, always use the cross walks on the east and north side of the bus way.
When approaching a sound wall, always stop and look both ways before crossing the bus
way. Be sure to obey no turn and do not enter signs.
We care about public safety. Please take an extra few moments to pay attention to all
the lights and the signs in the general area of the Metro Orange Line. It only takes a
second to cause an accident.
