In this, the first segment of "Hit a Golf Ball Like a Baseball", I'm going to give you
the overall picture. There are so many similarities between hitting a golf ball like a baseball.
But I'll tell you the number one similarity: and that is, in baseball, have you ever heard
the expression "He really golfed that one"? That means that there was a low pitch. And
on that low pitch, that batter hit the ball almost off the ground- Boom!- and then ran
to first base. And many times, he hit that ball hard. And if you ever saw a slow motion
of that baseball swing on that low pitch, it is what I would call a perfect golf swing.
A swing where the body is moving, the arms are moving, the hands are moving. It's on
the correct plane. It has a tremendous amount of power. The grip is in such a strong and
natural position that everything else is able to work. You've heard the expression "Oh,
you used the baseball swing on that one". Well, if you really did use a baseball swing
and you golfed that baseball swing, you would have had a great golf swing. There are many
ways to swing a golf club. Hitting a golf ball like a baseball is one of them. And that's
the overall concept. And now I'm going into more specifics. But generally, you could use
so many of the fundamentals. Hit a golf ball like a baseball. Try it. Make believe there's
a low pitch. Hit it to center field. And that might be enough right there for you to start
to play grand slam golf.
