It's that time again
at work, school or community center near you a blood drive is happening.
Many people give blood because they believe it's the right thing to do or they know someone who needs blood.
What you probably don't know is that gay or
bisexual men are banned from donating blood in the united states.
This is discrimination.
This ban assumes that all gay and bisexual men are at high risk for h_i_v_ aids, a relic
from the 1980s ***/AIDs crisis that labeled a virus gay disease
today we know that anyone can become infected with *** and that a person, gay
or not, who abstains from sex or practices safe sex is at low risk for ***/AIDs
So why are we judging by a person's character?
Fourteen other countries have lifted the ban, so why not the United States?
Instead of screening for someone's character, let's screen for high-risk sex
practices and let gay and bisexual men who want to give the gift of life
donate.
Besides every two seconds someone in United States needs blood. Help us lift
the ban
and and discrimination.
Let Gays Give
