Hey guys. This isn't really a tutorial as much as it is me giving you some tips on if
you're really croteching. So the tips that I'm gonna give you is pretty simple. When
you are crocheting and then you accumulate so many things like crochet hooks and yarn
and buttons and things like that, you're going to want something to keep all of this stuff
in. Definitely don't want to lose any needles. Like actual sewing needles. Okay here is a
soft case. It has pockets for each hook. I'm actually practicing knitting so I've got my
knitting needles in here. Here's all my different crochet hooks. Here's the one that I use for
the thread. This is a thread hook. It's quite small, and they do come in smaller believe
it or not. This is not the smallest hook you can find. It's just a size B. Then over here,
just in case, I keep a seam-ripper. Just take the top off there. And you use it to take
out the seams if you've sewn something on the wrong way or in the wrong place. That's
what that is used for. And this, I keep this in the same pocket because this goes to a
loom knitting set. And a loom is just a round- It's kinda like a round thing with pegs on
it. I will show you that later. But for now, this is the hook for that. Just putting everything
back up now. In this side, I've got a sharpie. This is a metallic sharpie. Because sometimes
Iike to use a sharpie to put on the doll's face where I realize where I'm going to put
the eyes. So I use it to mark the doll's face so that I can put the buttons in. A little
pair of scissors. I have index cards. These are mostly for orders and notes. "Orders"
as in I do have people that ask me "Can you make me a scarf?" "Can you make me a hat?"
"Can you make me some gloves?". And I just write it down with their names and how much
it would cost them. And then of course Christmas presents I have to keep up with. And there's
nothing in this pocket, I don't have anything to fit in it yet. But this, this particular
hook, is very very long. It's called, uh, I think it's called an afghan hook. And you
can do a stitch with it called the Tunisian stitch. Another thing that we might be getting
into later on. So that's where I keep all of my hooks and my supplies. And it does tie
up. And if you would like one, they sell them at Wal-Mart. Okay, so the next thing that
we're gonna be getting into here is a place to put all of your little supplies. I do have
to sew up a little bit, like um- My boyfriend, he works in a warehouse, so his pants get
ripped a lot so have to sew up his pants. And sometimes his shirts. So I keep a little
bit of thread here. There is a needle with it that I keep in this particular place. The
rest of my needles are kept in a different area. Here's some ribbon. I use ribbon to
put around sometimes a doll's neck sometimes when I give it to someone as a gift to make
it look all fancy. This particular one has roses on it. This one is double-sided. This
one is kind of old-fashioned. Feels kind of like cloth. And here's all my buttons. These
are the buttons that I sometimes will paint or I will just use them for small things where
I don't have to paint them. I never use them for eyes unless I'm painting them. These are
my eye-buttons. They were- uh, I can't remember if they were 60 cents or 90 cents at Wal-Mart
in the buttons isle but one side is flat, the other side is kind of bumped up a little
bit. And here's some blue ones. I'm still not used to having a different color so I
really don't know what I'm going to use for these yet. Maybe just some blue eyes. I was
making a Luma a few days ago that I actually put these buttons on and the Luma was by GoldenJellyBean.
You can find it on her website or her YouTube channel. It's a really great pattern, it's
really cute. And it's the greatest pattern for beginners. It's from Super Mario Galaxy
if you've ever played that, so you'll not be lost with that. And then I have just a
lot of little things in here. Little nick-knacks. So if you start accumulating a lot of things,
you might just wanna put em all in some place so that you can sew em onto your dolls later.
Um I recommend getting something like this. Again, they have them at Wal-Mart, I'm sorry,
I love Wal-Mart. But you can also find something like this at Joanne's. The next thing that
I have is something that my future-mother-in-law had given me, and I didn't know what to use
it for, so I put all of my needles inside. And there's quite a few of them, not all of
them are here because I'm using some in a different doll right now. But that's it really.
And where I put all my containers is in a really large woven basket. So that I can just
pick them up whenever I want them. Oh, my yarn. I put my yarn in a large tote. A plastic
tote that you can put a lid on top and it snaps into place, you can pick it up and put
it into a storage room or a closet or whatever. But I keep mine next to my work desk. I have
plenty of crochet books and knitting books and you can keep those on a specific shelf,
or if you have a library, then you can put them on a shelf in your library or you can
put them on top of your totes, but then you'd have to move them a lot, just throwing out
suggestions. And where I keep all my finished products that I'm going to keep, I have a
bag for those. It's a cloth bag, you know, you could just make your own bag. There are
plenty of patterns out there where you can make your own bag. I might try to make one
of my own in the future. And that's about it. That's where I keep all of my stuff stored,
and I hope I gave you some good tips. This stuff really does help. It makes my life a
lot easier. Because I have a lot of different things. And funny thing is I'm still accumulating
more and not all of what actually have is here. I'm using at least three other crochet
hooks in three other projects, two different needles in something else, and it's just crazy.
After a while, being a crocheter it's gonna seem like you're a hoarder, ya know. So you
have to find a place to put all of these things so that you won't loose it. I've lost plenty
of things in the couch cushions and found them later, and it's just crazy. Hope that
this helps. Leave a like, comment, favorite, share. Subscribe for more. And I will definitely
see you in the next tutorial I make. Bye!
