Just when we thought we might have been done with the air pollution, for now at least...
a pre-ultra fine dust warning was issued for the capital this Friday afternoon.
For more, let's go over to our Kim Bo-gyung at the weather center. Bo-gyung, what's the
latest?
The warning continues in Seoul, where we're currently seeing 139 micrograms per cubic
meter of fine dust. This is triple the normal levels, so those with respiratory problems
should continue to take caution.
Currently, it is raining in most parts of the southern regions. Through tomorrow, Jeju
will get 5 to 30 millimeters of precipitation. Those in both the Jeolla-do and Gyeongsang-do
provinces, along with Dokdo can expect 5 millimeters.
Moving on to our satellite map. Strong winds are blowing in from the west, which will gradually
push away all the fine dust by tomorrow afternoon.
Tomorrow looks to be a cloudy or drizzly day nationwide, but it will be sunny on Sunday.
And next week, things will turn a bit colder again, as morning lows are forecast to dip
below zero.
Taking a look at tomorrow's readings. Seoul and Gwangju hit 9 degrees, while Daegu and
Busan reach the low-teens.
As for other regions. Daejeon and Jeju also peak in the low-teens. Dokdo and Mt. Kumgang
top out at 7 and 1 degrees.
