This is a National Cartographic special: African Explorations with Sir Madeline Lollygag. Ph.D! Right. Our
first episode begins on the African savannah, home of the lion. If you look out across the
savannah, you'll see grasses, animals, tigers, lions, bears, etc., many of which will try
to eat you and *** you in your sleep. Now, pan down, pan down! Thank you. If you'll look
here, upon the ground, you will see what is commonly known as grass. Not found in parts
of North America, nor anywhere in the world except for Africa. It's a very unique species,
good for life. I don't think grass- Shut up! Who is the expert here, Ms. Ornithologist?
I'm not an ornithologist, I'm a camerawoman. Uhhh, cardiologist, right, right. Whatever.
Anyways, now, here I'd like to direct your attention to a very interesting species of
plant, some call it flowerus yellowus, but you may know it as a flower. Now, this a very
intersting thing, I would like to take record of this in my notes. Hmm. Right, right. A
good scientist records everything she finds int he field, especially a thing such as this.
You aren't going to find these back home in America, are you now, Ms. Cardiologist- I
think you are, but- Mmm. Mmm, umm, uh, I, I resent that. All right I am drawing a picture
of the flower now. See, detailed drawings are critical to the field of science. That
is- I don't think you really have a Ph.D. I do- you're lying! I am not! You are! Shut
up, shut up, shut up! The most important part of survival on the savannah is shelter. Let
us go now. I see a suitable bush over there. Let's go. Go! Run! Run! A lion could be stalking
us right now! Run! Okay, should I cut the camera? Now this shelter, while it will not
protect us from the attacks of animals such as lions, tigers, bears, sharks, etc., it
should keep us out of their vision of sight, which will hopefully protect us from these
attacks. Now, as anyone knows, rain is very common on the African savannah, thus it is
so green. Rain? Yes. That's why it's also known as the rainforest in many areas of the
world. I don't think it's known as the rainforest. That is correct! I, I know what I'm
talking about thank you very much, Ms. Geologist. Anywho- I'm a cameraperson- I do not like your attitude, anyhow, to
prevent us from
being
sickened by this rain, which is often toxic to humans, but not
to animals- Rain's not toxic- acid rain? Don't
you
know anything? My God. People these days.
