Here we'll talk about suspended four chords. Let's go back to the D chord that we just
used to make suspended two. There's that D chord, now the definition of "suspended" means
get rid of the third, replace it with either a two or a four. Now you could say suspended
without the number and it would imply four. You have to state suspended two to say "get
rid of the third and put a two in its place" but you could just say suspended and it would
assume that you're going to change the third into a four. Now let's take a look at a D
major scale one, two, three, four. The four in a D major scale is a G. Back to the D chord,
the third is an F sharp which appears right here under the middle finger. So we're going
to get rid of that middle finger and put a four in its place. G is the third fret of
the high E. Now you have suspended four.
