Former Strictly dance partner Robin Windsor reveals the real reason for her 6 stone weight loss
LISA Riley has not had a gastric band fitted, according to her former Strictly Come Dancing partner Robin Windsor.
The Emmerdale actress showed off her amazing 6 stone weight loss in a series of recent holiday snaps, and fans questioned whether it was down to a weight loss surgery.
The 39 year old slowly began losing weight during her stint on Strictly in 2012,
though her dad Terry’s cancer scare and type 2 diabetes diagnosis last year served as a wake up call.
Following a health and fitness overhaul, the star went from a size 30 to a size 16 in the space of just 10 months.
Lisa wowed fans with her new look after she shared a number of holiday photos from her trip to Bali on Instagram.
One Instagram follower commented: “Wow you look wonderful and incredibly happy.”
“You look really amazing and healthy. Well done for your weight loss,” added another.
The Waterloo Road actress took to Twitter to thank fans for their support,
writing: “THANKYOU for all your STUNNING comments, I suppose I still can't quite believe it myself! You are all so kind and your messages make me smile.”
While fans speculated whether she’d had a gastric band fitted, the actress explained that her weight loss was down to cutting out alcohol and exercising regularly.
Speaking to Closer, Lisa's former dance partner Robin revealed: “Lisa’s half the woman she used to be.
“I’m so proud of her for dropping the pounds slowly and sensibly, not through a gastric band or some fad diet.
“She’s got a new man in her life and they’re really happy together. He’s been very supportive. They got together not long before she started losing the weight.”
