Hello, welcome to this presentation on the Barco DP2K-10Sx digital cinema projector.
This cinema projector has been designed with the independent cinemas and arthouses in mind.
For these particular exhibitors the operating costs are extremely important.
So there's a number of things that the 10Sx projector is doing to have the lowest operating
cost. One very important aspect is that it uses
short-arc Xenon lamps because these bring the highest efficiency and the lowest operating
cost in the cinema industry. Another important design aspect behind the
10Sx projectors is that we have retained the concept of having reusable air filters. This
avoids having to invest into purchasing air filters over and over again.
On a monthly basis, the filters can be simply removed from the projector, vacuum-cleaned
and replaced back into the projector. Also if the filters are greasy, they can be simply
cleaned with soda water. A new feature we have added on the 10Sx projector
is the standby eco mode. In this particular mode, the projector is put to sleep and the
electronics are consuming a very limited amount of power, only 15 watts.
Typically, the use is that at night the projectors are in sleep mode yet they can be automated
to also minimize operating costs so through the network the projector can be woken up
for maintenance operations or for ingesting DCPs and after that the projector can automatically
be put back to the sleep mode to only consume 15 watts for the rest of the night.
One last -- very important -- aspect of the 10Sx projector is that it has been designed
by Barco's engineers to use as many common parts with the larger digital cinema projectors.
This allows an optimization of the spare parts inventories for the service partners also
bringing operating cost advantages.
