Hey, I'm Keri Glassman here with some quick and simple tips to help you feel just a little
bit better. It’s happened to all of us. You’re cruising along, eating the right
amounts of the right foods, the picture of health. And then comes the restaurant invite.
Your friends are all going out, and it’s definitely not a place known for its healthy
options. How are you supposed to stick to your nutrition plan in this den of temptation?
Beer, fried appetizers, huge portions. First, calm down. You’re allowed to indulge occasionally
as long as you indulge carefully and get right back on track. Find the healthiest option
for the food you're craving when you are out. Get the pasta in the tomato sauce versus the
creams sauce. Second, make sure everything else you order is the healthiest choice, such
as the side salad. And portion control is your friend. Share a meal, rather than having
the whole thing. No one wants to share? No prob. Order an appetizer as an entrée. Or
ask for a to-go box with your meal so you can save the leftovers before you even start
chowing down. You can even have the restaurant divide your meal in half and bring you part
on a plate and part in a bag. So remember: A night out doesn’t have to derail your
eating habits. Make conscious indulgences and control portions. You’ll come home feeling
just a little bit better.
