Daddy Brad: Welcome back to the lounge – I’m Daddy Brad. I’m going to be honest; I’m
going to share some secrets of guys. You know Valentines Day and the gift? It’s really
all about getting lucky.
Cathy: Isn’t it always?
Daddy Brad: We are joined by two of the authors of baby-proofing your marriage – Cathy O’Neil
and Julia Stone.
Julia: Hi Brad
Daddy Brad: Thanks for coming!
Julia: Thanks for having wine.
Daddy Brad: Wine – beer, mars – Venus. When did it become a day that we had to give
these huge gifts as Valentines Day?
Julia: I think I missed that one.
Cathy: We do have control over what we give. I mean we don’t have to buy into this whole
– it has to be diamond necklace or earrings or a big-ticket item. I mean roses would be
fine but again – that’s like $100 on Valentines Day. What I really, really want on Valentines
Day, is a well thought out, well-written heartfelt card.
Daddy Brad: A card? Oh who would have thought it?
Cathy: That’s it! I don’t want a gift.
Julie: A gift is the time.
Cathy: Anybody can go and slap down the credit card or run themselves into Victoria’s secret,
which is really for them to be perfectly honest.
Julie: It could be Hallmark but it needs to filled with writing. Your own writing.
Cathy: Yeah not just his name kiss, kiss. I have cards from my husband that he gave
me years ago and on days that I’m really mad at him – I’m really annoyed at him,
I pull them out. It’s kind of like a little recharge.
Julie: The thought always counts with women. If you aren’t comfortable writing it yourself,
you might find someone else who’s written poems and…
Daddy Brad: Cool! Commission a poem.
Julie: You can commission it, you could look through a book of them or, you could just
copy one – I couldn’t write it myself, but this is how I feel.
Cathy: This is going to sound terribly cheesy, but make it a Valentines Day every day, you
know? And say I love you every day.
Daddy Brad: Remember; make Valentines Day – every day. Thanks ladies.
Dear Baby, your eyes shine bright, like stars at night. Deep in the heart of Bradley. Oh
that’s good, that’s good! I’m going to get lucky tonight!
