Released a couple of days ago Left Behind is the latest and, so far, the
only confirmed single player expansion for The Last of Us.
What I'm going to talk about right now contains spoilers about main story of the The Last
of Us so if you haven't finished the game yet, stop,
and come back later. You have been warned.
So you're still here, let's get this thing started.
The story in Left Behind explains two missing links in the main story of The Last of Us,
first what happened between Fall and Winter and how Ellie was able to take care of Joel
and second how Ellie discovered she was immune
to this virus.
This second story is presented as a series of flashbacks after they both take shelter
inside a Mall, Riley, a friend of Ellie is introduced and
basically the main story of this expansion kicks in.
If you played The Last of Us you already know the ending of this story,
you know Ellie saved Joel; and you know Ellie and Riley got bitten but
only Ellie survived.
But this DLC is not about explaining you that instead, this expansion is all about telling
you the important connection of Ellie and two of her best friends
Joel and Riley, and how losing Riley in the past makes Ellie feel about losing Joel in
the present.
That is the important thing about this DLC, playing as Ellie and thinking about something
that could happen yet one more time: losing someone really important
in your life.
If you're planning to buy and play this expansion I highly recommend you to take the time to
explore, pick up the collectibles, read the letters
and listen to the recordings, if you don't do so,
you will really feel like the game was not long enough.
For many people, the length of this DLC could be the main disappointment,
it took me two hours and a half, more or less, to finish the whole thing,
it might take you less or more depending on the difficulty and how much you like to explore.
This expansion is free to download for people who already bought the Season Pass,
but if you didn't buy the season pass you can pick up this DLC for $14.99.
Would I recommend this expansion? Definitely, it's a must for everyone who played The Last
of Us However that doesn't mean you have to buy
it, To be honest I think the price is a little
bit high, so if you don't care too much about not actually
playing the DLC I highly recommend you to watch a video walkthrough
and that's it, the experience would be more or less the same,
and you will save some money.
In the end, whatever you decide, either buy it or watch a walkthrough,
make sure you take the time to experience it.
It's a really cool DLC
