Hi, I'm Linda Wooldridge and I'm a home school mom. So what's the difference between home
schooling and sending your child to a preschool? Well it really depends on what works for your
family. It's easy to do preschool at home but your child might enjoy being around the
other children and you might enjoy the break, especially if you're home schooling other
kids. But let's say for a moment that you do want to home school your preschooler. There
are programs built specifically for preschoolers. In fact there's one that goes by letters of
the alphabet. For example if you're studying G, your color that week might be green and
you might do Green Eggs and Ham. But if you choose to just do it yourself, remember that
preschoolers are full of questions and if you just follow your child's lead you'll end
up in some really interesting places. For example, just today we found a mother opossum
with three babies on her back. And we had a wonderful study on how the babies hang on
to the mom and where the mom was living with her babies. It's just like that. Whatever
you choose to study, however you choose to do it, you can have a wonderful preschool
program. And remember if you're doing formalized education you'll probably be done a whole
lot sooner than the schools will be, simply because you don't have as many interruptions
in your school day. So if you choose to home school your child or if you choose to send
your child to a preschool, either way, whichever works for your family, is a wonderful opportunity.
But if you do choose to home school it's easy to do. I'm Linda Wooldridge, have a great
home schooling day.
