Let's cook chickpeas with caper leaves.
Soak the chickpeas in water, for 12 hours, before you cook them.
Strain the chickpeas and boil them for 30 minutes.
Wash and finely chop the tomatoes.
Peel and finely chop the onion.
Heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and the chopped tomatoes.
Add the rice in the saucepan, along with the salt and pepper.
Mix in the boiled chickpeas and stir well. Chickpeas are consumed boiled or cooked as legumes.
They can also be roasted and consumed as dried nuts.
Add water, lower the heat and cook until the rice absorbs the liquids.
Rice is a basic dietary product consumed by man.
Serve the chickpeas with the rice in a dish making a hollow in order to place the caper leaves in the middle.
Use caper leaves in salads or in spicy sauces for an authentic, pure and natural flavour, but also for a healthy diet!
Drizzle some lemon juice and olive oil over the chickpeas.
Serve as an appetizer, or enjoy as a healthy main meal.
