I am a sailing photographer and I love being on boats. I like it when you can feel the
forces of nature, when the boat is listing and water is spraying everywhere. I like being
with the crews and taking beautiful photos of them in action.
I have never been on a 60-foot boat. I have often sailed alongside 60-foot boats, but
not for long because they are usually going faster than I am.
My passion for sailing is more a meeting with people, a meeting with nature and its elements
and also sensations.
It's difficult to sum up my passion for sailing in a few words, but it's partly the adrenaline,
the speed, and the team spirit. I had no idea that I would be taking part in this test mission.
It feels like a gift from my crew and for my 30th birthday. Each of the members of the
crew and the team on land has written a few words to describe my passion for sailing.
When I am sailing I always feel extremely happy to be on the water, to be able to see
things that are ephemeral, that appear by surprise. It is always memorable and in general,
almost every time, when you come back to port you feel good and it's always like that, it's
a passion.
It will be an opportunity to learn a lot with Tanguy about Initiatives Cœur. We are with
someone who really has experience, who really has a lot to teach us.
I wanted to sail with Tanguy on a 60-foot IMOCA and I've also been using Tribord products
for a while now.
Well for once I didn't feel cold, and I'm very sensitive to cold, I always feel cold
and I can say that despite the conditions of wind, rain, splashing, sea spray, etc,
I didn't feel cold at all.
Tanguy is a little bit tough because he makes us work, turning the winch, hauling in the
sails, he has us slack the runner and tackle, but otherwise it's very enjoyable. The difference
compared with my usual sailing is above all that I have never gone around Groix so quickly.
with Tanguy who is so relaxed, I think it's a once in a lifetime experience.
I felt the sensation of a fantastic stampede, especially in being carried in the waves.
There is a sensation of incredible speed. Yes, we were able to give the equipment an
excellent test. The mission was a success. If there is one thing I really don't like,
it's having cold and wet feet and this time I felt as if I was wearing slippers.
I am more used to small boats, centerboarders, so this is very impressive, it's a very powerful
boat. We were at about twenty knots and the sails were really taut, as they say. There
was the sensation of always being able to pull more, and being able to wait before letting
it go slack, it really takes up the power of the wind. It absorbs everything and lists
more and more.
Tanguy, he lets you be at the helm, he trusts you, and he gives you advice.
Regarding the complete equipment, I wasn't cold at all with the equipment that I had.
For me, it works.
It's true that today there was plenty of wind, sea, rain and waves, so it was excellent for
testing the equipment in real conditions. It was wonderful, and I think that everyone
appreciated discovering the power of this type of boat.
