Hi, this is Joelle Meijer.
An important question: which paper to choose
when you have no waxed paper to make paper stained glass ?
I show your here three kinds of paper that are more or less translucent.
The first is waxed paper that is slightly shiny
because it is covered with a layer of wax,
the second is parchment paper and the third is tracing paper.
In my previous video, I showed you how to make a stained glass shamrock
with pieces of tissue paper glued to a surface of waxed paper.
Several people have told me that waxed paper is hard to find in certain countries.
I will try the project with two other kinds of paper.
To start, I will redo the shamrock project on parchment paper.
I proceed exactly as with the waxed paper. I glue pieces of tissue paper
in different shades of green on parchment paper with mod podge.
In my second test, I will again repeat the shamrock but this time on tracing paper.
Again, I proceed in exactly the same way as with waxed paper.
If you don't have mod podge, you can use white glue diluted with a little bit of water.
I placed the three shamrocks on a window to compare the effect.
The tracing paper gives a result that is very close to the waxed paper.
The parchment paper is a little bit more opaque.
In conclusion: the three kinds of paper can be used for this kind of project.
