Hi, it’s Steve from PartSelect. Today we’re going to show you how to change the upper
spray arm on your dishwasher. It’s a really easy job; no tools required. Let me show you
how we do it. Now to do this repair we’ll begin by opening
the dishwasher door. Then next we’re going to remove the upper rack and to do that we
need to remove the rack stops; there’s a little clip on the bottom, just pull that
downward, unlatch it, then pull the rack stop up through the rails; do the same for both
sides. Set those aside. We’ll slide the upper rack out and set that
aside. We can push the rails back in and out of our
way. The upper spray arm is held in place with
a large nut that we’ll turn just counter-clockwise; that will unthread it from the inlet tube.
Drop that down. Now to install the new one we’ll put it
on in the same manner. We have to make sure that the inlet tube projects down from the
ceiling of the tub by about a quarter of an inch; make sure we don’t accidently push
that up and out of the way. Line that up, and very gently start the threads.
We’ll tighten it completely. Make sure it’s snug so we don’t have any leaks; there should
be about an eighth of an inch spacing above that nut and the top of the tub.
Now we’re ready to put the tub back in, slide our rails out, engage one wheel on one
side, do the same on the opposite side, push the rack firmly to the back; just pull the
rail out enough that we can reinstall the rack stops.
Slide that down through the opening on the top, through the opening on the bottom, and
then reach inside the rail to snap it into place.
And our repair is complete. Told you it was an easy job. Thanks for watching,
and good luck with your repair.
