Hi, Christian here. We're lucky enough to be testing the Panasonic
GH2 which is just released.
What we were really curious to know was how the audio manual gain control
works and basically this is the tests we're gonna let you decide.
Right now I'm recording the audio on what we like the best
but
what we're gonna run through is the built-in mic.
Then we're gonna test with an audio technica. It an omni-
directional ATR-35
that just plugs in.
We're going to test this Lumix Panasonic stereo microphone
which also just plugs in and it has stereo and mono, a battery and wind-cut
on and off option.
Then of course
we'll be testing with the Sennheiser EW100-G2.
Okay, this is the build-in mic in the GH2
and we set the mic levels at a decent level. Making sure we didn't peak so
see how you think this sounds.
Okay now we're testing
the Panasonic stereo microphone that sits on top of the camera.
It's actually pretty convenient, you just plug it in. It fits
on top and looks like you can
interview people or at least get
good sound at a party let's say
but we'll let you decide.
Okay, now we have the Audio-Technica
omnidirectional microphone. See how this sounds, and had to put a little bit lower
than normal just because we're going bit of a hot reading but now it should
be a decent mic level. See what you think
how this sound.
And now, for the Sennheiser EW100-G2 test.
What we like about this one, as you can probably tell, this was what I was first
recording on
that
we have really great control. Although on the camera it's set to mike level one,
that's okay because it's basically turning off the automatic gain and
giving us the control with sensitivity. This is a set at about
negative twenty
and AF out
is set at about negative-thirty decibels.
We're getting very clean, great audio and we love it.
This might be the answer for the GH2.
As an added bonus, we're testing this Shure SM57
in the wireless G2.
We're actually getting ready to do a shoot where we have some interviews. We thought
we just check this out, see how it works and let you hear as well.
Thanks very much for watching.
