ERIKA STORM WASSER: Hey, we are back on the streets
playing another round of Splurge or Sweden, the game
where we take to the streets and test people's furniture
knowledge and design IQ.
Can you tell what's a splurge and what's from Ikea?
I am here with--
JASMINE: Jasmine.
MATTHEW: Matthew.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: Where are you from?
-From France.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: Oh, France.
ALEX: Alex.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: And you are from?
ALEX: Karen Millen.
CHRIS YOUNG: Chris Young, I'm actually the CEO of DBG who
produces Spaces TV.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: So I am here with the Statue of
Liberty, and we are playing Splurge or Sweden.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: You know
football, but do you furniture?
MATTHEW: I can't say I do, no.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: So where are you from?
-I'm from New York.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: No, you're from France.
What would you say your furniture IQ was?
ALEX: Oh--
-Pretty good.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: Pretty good?
-Yeah.
ALEX: I would say about an eight.
I'm pretty good when it comes to furniture.
I like to shop.
CHRIS YOUNG: Give me a seven and a half.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: Seven and a half, OK.
I'm going to give you an eight because you pay me.
CHRIS YOUNG: Ooh.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: So this for Sweden,
and this for splurge.
So are you ready to play some Splurge or Sweden?
CHRIS YOUNG: Yes, Splurge or Sweden.
Let's do it.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: Item number one.
-Ikea.
CHRIS YOUNG: I think it's a Sweden from Ikea.
JASMINE: Splurge.
MATTHEW: That's a splurge.
ALEX: This is Ikea.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: You're right.
CHRIS YOUNG: Hey.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: One for one.
CHRIS YOUNG: Look at that eight knowledge.
MATTHEW: I would say that's Ikea.
CHRIS YOUNG: Mmm, this is what we call shabby chic.
JASMINE: Splurge, I don't know.
ALEX: That looks like a splurge.
That's, yeah.
CHRIS YOUNG: Really, it should be Sweden.
But I'm going to say chic.
-Expensive.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: This is expensive.
This is a splurge for $595.
-Yeah, it probably costs $30.
CHRIS YOUNG: You source it for free and sell it retail in New
York City for $595.
-Expensive.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: Final answer?
-Expensive.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: Are you sure?
-Yes.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: Really?
-Yes.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: Are you positive?
MATTHEW: I've put Ikea furniture together before, so.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: Do you think you
could put that together?
MATTHEW: I mean it's possible.
CHRIS YOUNG: I'm going to have that this is Sweden.
ALEX: You know what?
I would say this is not a splurge.
JASMINE: Ikea.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: You are correct.
This is a table that is $11,595.
-Hm.
JASMINE: Oh, it's not Opposite Day?
I'm getting all of these wrong.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: I'm going to show you two photos that
look almost the same.
One is a splurge and one is a Sweden.
JASMINE: This is the splurge.
That's Ikea.
ALEX: This one's the Sweden and then the other one is the
splurge.
-That's the cheap one and that's the expensive one.
MATTHEW: This is Ikea and that's the splurge.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: If you are wrong, can everyone watching
this video get 50% off at Karen Millen.
ALEX: Ah.
CHRIS YOUNG: The first one is the Sweden and the second one
is the splurge.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: This is $399 and this is [INAUDIBLE]
$60.
ALEX: That's crazy.
That's crazy.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: I'm going to get those boots I want.
ALEX: OK, you have to come see me later.
CHRIS YOUNG: For all the Spaces TV viewers, the bottom
here of the Sweden, it's shiny, it's cheap.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: Well thank you, Lady Liberty.
-Yes, definitely.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: How do you feel now that you've failed
Splurge or Sweden?
JASMINE: I won't buy any furniture.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: You did good.
-Good.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: C'est bon.
-C'est bon.
MATTHEW: It's nice to know that there's furniture out
there that's affordable, even though you have to put it
together yourself.
ALEX: Now I feel a little, um--
uh, I feel like a six.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: God bless America.
Can I wear your stuff?
Which one has the least amount of lice?
-Eh, this one.
ERIKA STORM WASSER: I love how he had to think about it and
be like, this one.
