Dear citizens of Russia, For many years you have been
insulted and publicly humiliated in your own country,
giving away all, but gaining nothing in return.
The infinite lawlessness, corruption and, what's more,
the stream of pro-government propaganda brainwashing you on TV,
have lead many to think of it as of something ordinary
and never imagine their lives taking another course, and those who resist
are persecuted. Nevertheless, there still remains a place
where Russian citizens cannot be brainwashed yet.
That place is the Internet. Here a person can always find those
who hold the same views, obtain first-hand uncensored information
and draw their own conclusions.
But under the guise of protecting the children and fighting piracy
and, actually, with intent to put the Internet under
total government control and make a lot of money from doing that,
a campaign for control over the Web has been started. Instead of
real news you will now get the same lies told to you
by the state TV channel and pay out of your meager salaries
for worthless knockoffs which will be passed off to you as "art".
Those wishing to enter the truly free Internet
will be forced to "break the law" to do so and, possibly, end up
in prison. If you let the government take the Internet from you,
then you will never be able to get it back. Protest
against any laws encroaching upon your Internet freedom,
don't let them restrict the free exchange of information
and don't believe their lies about the Web's dangers.
And those responsible for this campaign have to
understand that any attempt to control the net and manipulate
the denizens of the Internet will not be met with obedience.
For each website you shut down, we will hack twice as much.
Each of your lies we will face with a denouncing truth.
For each of your measures we will present countermeasures. We are Anonymous.
We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget.
Expect us.
