Here I have designed a belted cape. For this collection, as well as the last collection,
I actually really created as opposed to just drew, I actually have designed and drafted
the pattern and sewn this exact cape. It ended up really, really cute. I didn't finish the
hemlines, I'll, when we get to the sewing part, I'll show you how to actually create
these things and then it's like "Whoa", a whole new world expands and your closet will
expand, too, because you're like "Ah, I can create that, Oh my God, let's make one for
me"! And then you get a little bit selfish, but, whatever, back to drawing. This is my
belted cape, and the belt on the cape is going to go in the front, but it's not going to
be visible in the back. If you were to look at a back view of this, it would be drapey
and blousey and full, as a cape should be, like think "Superman Cape", but in the front
I have it cinched, because, like I say, you always want to cinch at the waist. You always
want to show elegance and that's why the belt goes there. And then there would, actually,
in reality, be two holes, one on either side in the cape where the belt goes through and
then connects on your actual skin in the back, as opposed to showing in the back.
