[Rock Music] {Interviewer} Ok, so who do you currently
– who’s your current gig with? {Roadie} Buffalo & Erie County Public Library.
{Interviewer} Oh, cool, cool. And how long have you been with them?
{Roadie} About a year. {Interviewer} And who else did you work with
in the past? {Roadie} A couple different people – Allman
Brothers, Justin Beiber, Taylor Swift, Rebecca Black.
{Interviewer} Wow. {Roadie} Really talented musicians.
{Interviewer} That’s great. Looks like you’ve got a lot of experience. What show are you
currently working on with the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library?
{Roadie} I’m doing the Cyber Train gig right now. It’s pretty hip.
{Interviewer} Ok, the Cyber Train gig. Tells us about that. What do you do?
{Roadie} I, you know, before the show, set up. After the show, tear down. Monitor. Make
sure everything runs smoothly. {Interviewer} What types of things are you
setting up? {Roadie} You know, laptops, wireless access,
that sort of stuff. {Interviewer} Projectors, lighting, all that
kind of stuff. {Roadie} Yeah, of course.
{Interviewer} So when you go into one of the venues around the area – one of the libraries
– what do you like to see when you walk into the room? Is it supposed to be set up
a certain way? {Roadie} We prefer the U-shape, you know,
three, four tables; sometimes maybe it helps if there’s a stand with a projector on it
in the middle. {2nd Roadie} Now this is what I’m talking
about! {Roadie} Got to get warmed up before the show.
We don’t just sit back and relax. We got to make sure everything runs smoothly.
{Interviewer} So do you ever have too many people show up for a gig?
{Roadie} We’ll do a show for any size crowd of patrons. But sometimes seating is limited,
and we appreciate it when the venue is aware of these capacity issues. Like our Downloads2Go
show. We can only handle twelve because the class is just so intense.
{Interviewer} Is there anything else the venues or branches should know about?
{Roadie} We appreciate it when we see on the set list that all the patrons have been called
and reminded what time the show starts. Don’t always get perfect weather. Rain, sunshine,
doesn’t matter – the show’s got to go on.
{2nd Roadie} Off to the next show! The Cyber Train team, coming soon to a library
near you. [Sad Music]
