Thank you for this opportunity.
I have to say that there is only divulgation of the huge projects
of the Portuguese government and of the Mozambican government;
concerning the small and medium sized projects not only from Mozambicans in Europe,
but also from the Portuguese in Mozambique
we know little or nothing.
We don't know how those projects are developed
and the way they are supported in Mozambique.
Due to this situation and since some of us
have Mozambican origin,
we established platforms of understanding with municipalities in Mozambique,
with government institutions that supervise the fields of international commerce
and entrepreneurship, as well as Mozambican business associations.
We have been very welcomed, we are being duly supported
by the Mozambican authorities and associations however,
the results we are achieving are totally unknown.
We realized that people knock on the wrong doors in Mozambique
and so they spare real business and investment opportunities
that could become effective through the right contacts.
Therefore, we decided to build up a project
that interconnects the AECCP (Portuguese Company Grouping of Fuel Consuming Companies)
and AECIM (Mozambican Company Grouping of Commercial and Industrial Companies),
that is being constituted with Mozambican companies
that intend not only invest in Portugal
but also support investments, make partnerships with Portuguese companies
that aim to establish in Mozambique.
We are not against Portuguese investments in Mozambique
we are for strategic partnerships between Portuguese companies and Mozambican companies,
so that the first may provide the second
their know-how to set up projects (that sometimes Mozambican companies lack of).
That's exactly where TV AECIM will intervene...
Correct, a digital TV, that doesn't yet exist in Mozambique.
There are open channels, but not digital channels.
We are aware that internet is taking its first steps in Mozambique
and that is precisely for this reason that we are making this choice,
we intend to provide this benefit to the Mozambican people and businessmen.
We are being supported by several Mozambican companies,
namely when we created the AECIM and that is what we intend to further develop.
As I already told, we were also supported by some Mozambican business institutions,
some business associations as well as some official institutions,
namely AMMAL (National Association of Municipalities of Mozambique),
whose secretary general, Dr. Cherewa, visited Portugal in September 2013.
This will bring a new and more restricted TV channel,
destined to business activities and also to students
because it will enhance the new market of young people
that are now taking its first steps in the internet,
so they will have this fantastic opportunity of sharing its knowledge and attitudes.
We are now opening an office in Mozambique with representations in the main provinces,
to support the Portuguese businessmen that intend to seek investment
and business opportunities and to support Mozambican businessman
that aim to invest in Portugal or to set up partnerships.
It is our heart calling;
who was born in Africa
or who lived in Africa (saying this gives me the thrills...)
never forgets Africa,
I think this says all...
