We're going to do another version of Salamba Savasana, Supported Corpse Pose. This time
we're going to do this pose with two bolsters. I'm going to ask Jennifer to lie back on her
back. And again, remembering that it's very important to take some time at the end of
your class, at the end of your practice to do some forms of Supported Pose. This is your
traditional Savasana with support. So we're going to ask her to lift her knees, and the
first place we're going to do is just support her knees. And then she just going to let
the feet fall out, so there's no muscle contraction, there's no work going on and she's just totally
enjoying. And then the next thing we're going to ask her to do is bring herself back up.
And we're going to use the bolster to encourage opening of the chest. However, depending on
the flexibility of her low back, some of you going to like this right up against your back
and some of you going to need to play with where that's going to go, depending again
on the flexibility of your lower back. The joy should be that when you lay back, that
you're enjoying a big smile on your face. If there's discomfort and you're looking uncomfortable,
let's play with where the blocks are going, where the bolsters are going. So again, encouraging
opening in her chest, she has lengthen her spine, so the chin is neutral; it's not lifting,
it's not lowering and then all she's going to do is begin to enjoy the breath. She can
take the time to review her practice and absorb.
