Using Google Calendar is a simple and effective way to schedule a meeting.
To help streamline this process, it's useful to change a few default settings.
The first of which will automatically add an optional video call on event creation.
To enable this feature, go to the options icon and choose "Settings"
The option we are looking for is called "Automatically add video calls to events I create"
Another feature that Google Calendar has available to you is automatic reminders.
These can be enabled on a calendar by calendar basis
by going to your calendar's "reminders and notifications"
You can choose between any combination of pop up, email or sms text message reminders.
If you want the ability to add attachments to your events, you will have to enable a
'lab' to do so. Here's how:
Go to the options icon, select 'labs',
click enable on event attachments and hit save.
Now we are ready to create our event.
If this is a recurring event, click on "Repeat.." then choose your recurrence interval.
You can now add attachments from your Google Drive.
Enter the names of the attendees to add this event to their calendars.
Guests can be allowed to modify the event from this screen as well.
When you save your event, you will be prompted to email invitations with all of the event
details to the invitees. If later you need to send a message to the
guests, edit the event and click "email guests" on
the right-hand side.
It is only necessary to change the description
if the event itself has in some way been updated.
You can join the video call for an upcoming meeting by clicking on the event
and selecting "Join meeting" followed by your meeting URL.
Thanks for watching!
