ANCHOR MEGAN MURPHY Authorities in Florence, Alabama, are having
a serious talk with one teenage girl who got so annoyed with her 12-year-old brother, she
tried to sell him on Craigslist. Here’s WAFF:
“... the boy’s sister got mad
at him, now this is a look at the ad. It lists “a Joyful little boy” for $1,200. It went
on to say the boy is in need of a good home and caring people to be around.”
While
the ad may have started as a family prank, it sparked a state-wide police hunt for the
boy and the family who put him up for sale. An Alabama police officer told the Times Daily,
“Unfortunately,
people do put kids’ photos out there on websites offering them for *** encounters
… We [didn’t] know if someone is trying to sell this kid for sex, human trafficking
or what.”

When police tracked the boy down, his sister admitted
it was all just a prank. She wasn’t arrested but was given a stern talking to. Florence
Police told the Daily Mail...
“Kids and parents need to realize is when you do
something like this, you can lure the wrong kind of person, and you’re endangering the
child by putting their image out there. Just their image alone can be exploited and you
not even know it.”
The ad has been removed from Craigslist and the boy is safe
at home with his family, possibly to the dismay of his big sister.
