I think, especially because...
you are putting your attention on something general...
...like rooting and connecting, that you feel your center.
The precision of a yoga pose comes from inside;
then you can feel more the anatomy of your body,
the weight and how you are moving in space.
That’s why the form is more precise,
because you are staying more connected to yourself.
In the classes with Ute...
and that’s why I think they are great,
she lets you be yourself.
There is no competition.
You do your best and that is good!
There is a big variety of who comes to the classes,
from younger to older.
There are people who just want to enjoy a class once a week,
to people who want to dive deeper.
Ute teaches for me in a way...
that lets me take time to feel what’s going on,
where the limits are.
There is space to explore,
so I can decide for myself what I am capable of.
It’s not so competitive…
I am her wall…
What I am trying to achieve is to allow people,
who are coming from their busy lives,
to turn inside, dare to feel, dare to let go.
It is a physical discipline,
but it also has to be enjoyable –
being involved with your body, your breath.
This also includes the challenge...
of progressively doing more advanced things.
You have to feel safe...
to attempt something new in a relatively easy way…
What helps me a lot through doing yoga,
is that my body stays flexible in combination with a strong back,
and all that in quite a relaxed manner.
It gives me quietude;
it is an anchor in my life,
from where I get more stability.
In general,
I observe that people who come for an extended period of time,
get stronger in themselves;
they choose more for their talents and what their passion is.
And they are much more balanced in their daily life, work and family.
I think Yoga is a beautiful tool,
because it gives you the chance to grow,
mentally, emotionally and physically.
It never stops!
