\f0\fs80 \cf0 Hey this is Robnonymous and today we're going to talk about the SMR assault
rifle in Black Ops 2. And while there doesn't appear to be a direct reference in the game,
the SMR seems to be modeled after the Saritch Modular Rifle, which according to Wikipedia,
is a prototype weapon being developed by Tula Arms, a Russian weapons manufacturer.\
\ This is the second semi-automatic assault
rifle in the game and it is extremely powerful. \
\ Unlocked at level 46, it has the smallest
assault rifle magazine at 20 rounds and can only be extended to 26 with the extended clip.
But it's not that much of a crutch, since it's a semi-automatic weapon out of the box.
\ \
Reload time is another worst in category at 3.2 seconds or 1.8 seconds after canceling
the animation. So it's important to be conscious of your surroundings when reloading. \
\ \
While the SMR has a small magazine and slow reload time, it has an impressive damage profile.
\ Each round can deal anywhere from 50 damage
up close to 40 at a a distance with great range taking out enemies with two hits up
to 125 ft. away. That's more than twice the range of the FAL\
\ Fire rate is pretty lethargic at 530 rounds
per minute in semi-auto and a little slower at 420 RPM with select fire. \
\ So that gives the SMR a time to kill of .15-.28
seconds, which is pretty average for the assault rifle category.\
\ \
Alright, so those are the stats. Let's get into the SMR's accuracy. First up is the ADS
Semi-auto test.\ \
Being a semi-automatic rifle, I thought the SMR would be laser gun, but you can tell from
these results, that it has some recoil. And it also appears the grip seemed to help out
in both the unsilenced and silenced configurations. \
\ OK, so here are the semi-auto hip fire tests.\
\ Not the best here, but the grip and laser
combination made a noticeable improvement by reigning in the bullet patterns. And I'm
glad to say we have some consistency here as well. The same class was still on top when
adding the silencer. \ \
Lets move on to the fully auto accuracy while aiming down sights\
\ The funny thing I noticed here, is that both
the semi-auto and fully auto tests seemed pretty much the same. I even had to double
check to make sure I had the right files in the right place. So I have to say if you're
not a fan of the semi-auto nature, you can go fully auto with select fire and not lose
much in the accuracy department. You'll just take a hit in both range and fire rate. \
\ alright, last up is the fully auto hip fire
test\ \
And as expected, the laser attached SMR does the best out of all the classes. This kept
up when adding the silencer as well. \ \
\ So after checking the SMRs accuracy in a variety
of configurations and using it in plenty of matches, I have to say I enjoyed running it
silenced with an ACOG sight. It's a great setup for hitting enemies at a distance while
keeping off the minimap, but just make sure to have a decent short range weapon like a
pistol or C4 available to stay prepared for close quarters combat. \
\ OK, so that's it for this episode of bullet
points. If you enjoyed it, I'd really appreciate a comment or a rating, and please consider
subscribing if you haven't done so already. \
\ Thanks again for watching and I hope you have
a great day!\ \
