Instructors have options for encouraging feedback and discussion in their Connect meetings.
Simple feedback, such as agreeing or disagreeing with questions or raising a hand can be done
through the feedback drop down menu on the menu bar.
This menu can also be used to communicate if the speaker should raise or lower their
voice, slow down, and give applause. This can be used in any layout.
The Poll feature can be used to ask questions of the audience and have them select an answer
or enter in a short text answer. To create a new poll, locate the Poll pod and select
the pod menu.
Then, select New poll from the options. In the Question field type in your question and
then type in your answers in the answer space below, making sure to hit Enter between answers
to place each answer on
a separate line.
Select open to deploy your poll immediately or create a new poll. Poll questions can be
written ahead of time and then deployed as need throughout your session.
Once a pool has been deployed and the attendees answer it the presenter or host can see the
answers as
well as broadcast the poll results to the audience.
Breakout rooms can be created to place attendees into smaller discussion groups to discuss
course topics and ideas. Presenters can float between rooms and then bring attendees back
together to discuss the groups' discussions as a whole.
To create a breakout session, select the breakout view option from the attendees pod. Next,
select the distribute evenly from main button to place attendees in a group.
Once attendees have been placed in groups select the start breakout button. This will
send the attendees in separate rooms. You can select a room to float into it.
When you are ready to bring everyone back together into the main room, select the End breakouts
button.
