Hi, I am Samuel-kun and wellcome
San Valentine's Day is near and sometimes we need some creative ideas
Today i'm going to teach you to make paper curtains
Easy to make and of course pretty cheap.
We need: Paper sheets; colored, dotted, printed, etc.
In my case i decided to print some scores and book fragments that i like
These printed sheets will give a sentimental touch
Also we need: scissors, a cutter,
A rule, stapler, staples,
colored paper clips
A piece of paperboard approx. 3cm by 1m, more or less
adhesive tape (transparent), glue stick, pencil
and finally, needle and thread (transparent or colored)
Ok, let's go
We going to start cutting strips of paper following the scores orientation.
so, i make marks separated by 2 cm at both edges of the paper, just like this
Do this process in all sheets
Bend the paper by half, and with a rule, join the marks and cut the strips
Do this process until we have different strips of different colors.
All strips are bended by half
Ok, the first thing we're going to do is the curtain rod, and is too easy
we have to cover all paperboard´s surface with strips of paper and glue stick.
Do this process until finish to cover all the surface.
Now, we need to bend clips at an angle of 90 degrees.
These going to be the hooks of our curtain rod
Paste all the hooks in the curtain rod with glue stick inside the paper, just as i do it.
All hooks are placed separately by the same distance
Then, we have finished the curtain rod.
For the first curtain, take a paper strip (bended)
paste in the middle of the strip a scrap of thread with glue stick.
bend the strip by half, and staple it.
Join both ends of the strip until make a heart
then, take another strip, assemble with the first one, and staple it.
This is the base of the curtain: So, Join both ends again, assemble with other piece, and staple it.
Do this process, until have finished.
The curtain's length depends of you, but if you make very long curtains, upper hearts could be deformed.
Finally, add one clip at the upper end of the thread... in my case I need 8 hanging strips for each curtain
and each hanging strips need its own clip, this way going to be easy placed in the curtain rod.
For the second curtain, paste the thread like we do it before, I mean: add glue, bend and staple.
Join bother ends until make a heart, and staple.
we will make a kind of chain, for the second link we bend another strip by half, staple, and connect with the first link, then staple again.
At the end, we will have a chain of hearts.
Repeat this procedure until you are satisfied with the length
Finally, add the clip.
For the 3rd curtain, I am going to use longer strips and of 3 cm of width
The process is the same: make the marks, bend the paper and cut into strips.
I'm going to combine thin strips and thick
The process will be a little bit different. Prepare needle and 1 meter of thread approximately, with a knot at the end.
Then, take one bended strip, and roll each extreme helped with a pencil.
With out reach the middle. Just like this.
Do the same at the other side.
and with a pencil, we have to give form
Starting to sew our first heart... stick the needle in the middle of the heart, and send it at the end of the thread.
With a scrap of rolled adhesive tape, paste the thread in the center of the heart, as I do it.
Do the same procedure with the thin strip, until we are satisfied with the length.
I hope you have enjoyed this curtains, too easy to do...
