After sitting empty for several years a historic coming downtown Rochester
Finally has some new tenants, the Jonathan Child House will be converted
into an event space they will also be a cafe open to the public staffed by east
high school alumni
thirteen whams Angela Long explains the school's connection and gives us a sneak
peek inside
the doctors townhouse in downtown was built before and after ron sisters first
new intend to burn for me
it's the vacant for eight years after the popular upscale restaurant Edwards
closed in two thousand and seven, now there is a revival
I very surprised to find that nobody was using this facility, being...
it's location downtown
how beautiful it is.. Osvaldo Arroyo is turning into a party and reception venu
and it's called Rochester Pillars
with a new business comes a special partnership Arroyo, a city school employee
had an interested east high schools culinary arts program
my question was what happens to graduates of the culinary arts program, are they finding jobs and
we found that there was a gap there... so i thought we could fill that gap
give them real world experience. with guidance from their former high school instructor three
former students from the program will help run a cafe and catering service at
the venue. the goal is for them. after they have spent a year here is to move out in
the community hopefully open up their own businesses
the former students hope there experience inspires others to believe
that they too
can succeed
it shows the inner city kids
that they can he do something with themselves of this size
hanging out in the streets are hopefully
will get them out of the city as well. in Rochester Angela Long thirteen News
