Extreme Mustang Makeover, George Ingalls Equestrian Event Center
Norco, California, May 3-4, 2013
Margaret Blaha: So I am Margaret and I am originally from Golden, Colorado
but I moved out to Blair, Nebraska to train some horses and to work with Steve,
and I heard about the Mustang Makeovers by one of my friends
and somebody just kind of dared me to do it, so the second I turned 18, I did
and it has just been a great experience.
I grew up riding a lot of Mustangs, and enjoy the experience of riding them
and training on them but getting to really start one from ground zero
and then adopt and be there the whole time, and it gets better and better
and then you go and compete on it, thats the best fun.
Steve Sward: I am Steve Sward and I got started in it two years ago
and this will be the fourth one I have done. I am from Blair, Nebraska.
I just like working with the mustangs, it's a clean slate.
So they don't come to you with no bad habits.
Brent Rollins: I have done 5 of these mustang makeovers, I have enjoyed every one.
I haven't made top 10 yet, but I ain't gonna quit until I get there.
If it takes me 20 times I will just keep doing it, keep doing it.
As far a mustangs go, that's all I have at home anymore.
I use to have quarter horses, but you know, these mustangs are better, they really are.
I mean, sure they don't have a big ol' fancy pedigree,
but my saying is you can't ride papers.
Thomas Lockhart: This is a BLM horse here,
this is my first time doing a Mustang Makeover.
These horses are very unique. I got this horse in February.
I have never seen any animal so good to train.
