Hello. I'm Elizabeth.
We're all thankful for soldiers who risk their lives to give us freedom.
NASA has designed a way to keep soldiers safer than ever before.
It all started when the US Army made robots that were made to help soldiers.
NASA invented the robot, but they didn't make a robot to actually save people.
NASA saw the US Army's robots in action and immediately bought two of them.
They took out all the gadgets and gears and replaced them with new and upgraded parts, to make them faster and more reliable.
NASA intends to use these robots to help astronauts get to the moon, but this time, to stay.
This way they can live on the moon, and still communicate with Mission Control down on Earth.
Eventually, they plan to put the Internet on the Moon; where they plan to build the Lunar Colony.
The robot's name, the US Army created, is named MARC Bot.
Give me an 'M' for "Multifunction"!
M!
Give me an 'A' for "Agile"!
A!
Give me an 'R' for "Remote"!
R!
Give me a 'C' for "Control"!
C!
So it's name is, "Multifunction Agile Remote Control Robot".
MARC Bot for short.
The robot can detect IEDs. Which is, "Improvised Explosive Devices."
And the robot also helps soldiers avoid them.
Did you know that NASA intends to improve the robots ability.
They have already made kits, so that the robots can be upgraded and repaired in the field.
I picked this project because I think that the US Army and NASA are very important. And I am glad they are working together.
