Hi. In this video I'm going to show you how to control exactly which frets and strings
are used when playing Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry
The first way to do this is to go into "performance", and then in the sub menu, select "fretting".
You can use the position *** to change the fretting position on the virtual guitar.
The default value for this *** is zero in the blank preset, which basically is the very
base of the fretboard of the guitar.
As you increase the fretting position, it moves the hand up on the virtual guitar neck.
At zero, it sounds like this.
When you move the *** upwards it will start using lower strings to play the same notes.
If you play outside of this default position, it will automatically adjust it.
But after you're done playing, you will hear a realistic fret slide noise as it moves back
to this default position.
I'm going to show you one more way of how to select exactly which strings you want to
use when playing.
Go into the "picking" sub-menu.
and you can use this string *** right here, which is set right now to the automatic string
selection
But you can also set it to MIDI guitar, which uses MIDI channels one through six to control
each individual guitar string
Or you can send it to the individual guitar strings from the E string to the hight E string.
For example, what you can do is establish a new layer.
Let's go into layer one.
And I'm going to use the mod wheel to control this.
So I'll make it anything from about halfway up will trigger the layer.
And since I'm using the mod wheel, I want to take off the vibrato.
So I'm going to move the vibrato to a different controller.
Okay, and then in performance let's go back to the string control right here, and I'm
going to set it to the E string.
And so when the layer triggers, it's going to make the fretting select only the E string.
And to do this, we want to click the on button, so that way when the layer is triggered, it's
going to know to adjust the value.
So now when I play...
If I play an A, it will use the open A string, and anything below, it'll use the E string,
just as it would in the position at the base of the neck.
But if I move the mod wheel all the way up, now when I play the A, it's played on the
E string.
In fact, all of the notes I play will be played on the low E string.
This is useful not only if you want to adjust exactly which string to use, but you can also
use it to play some tapping on the guitar.
So I'll show you how to do that.
Right now on the high E stringи
And now when I play, everything is played on the high E string, but now I can play tapping
stuff, like this.
Anyway so those are two different ways of how to control which strings and frets are
used.
And hopefully this video has been helpful.
Talk to you soon, bye!
