Hello, and welcome to the Learning and Technology Services tutorial on calculating the calculated
final grade in D2L. If, when you set up your grade system for
a course, you chose to display the calculated final grade, you can calculate the final grade
at the end of the term. The calculated final grade will be determined based on the grade
system you set up at the beginning of the term; it cannot be modified manually.
This tutorial assumes you are not keeping the final grade updated automatically in your
D2L course. On the navigation bar, click GRADES. The User
List appears. In the Final Grades column, click the Calculate
Final Grade dropdown arrow and select Grade All. The Final Grades pane appears.
Make sure you will be releasing the calculated final grade by checking the title of the Release.
If the column title says Release Calculated Final Grade, continue with this tutorial.
If not, exit and choose the tutorial for calculating the adjusted final grade.
Click the Final Grades dropdown arrow and select RECALCULATE ALL. Select “Calculated
Final Grade.” The Grade Items Included in Adjusted Final Grade dialog box appears. This
will show you all the grade items that are included in the calculation.
Click Calculate. A confirmation dialog box appears. Click YES. The calculated final grade
is recalculated. To release the final grades to students, click
the Final Grades dropdown arrow and select Release All. Notice that the boxes in the
release column are n ow checked. Click Save to continue and release the grades
to students. If you have any questions about calculating
the final grade, contact the LTS Help Desk at 715-836-5711 or sent an email to helpdesk@uwec.edu.
