Hi my name is Tim Labelle. This is my wife, April. We are the owners of Pet Barn Exotics
in Hartland, Michigan. We are here on behalf of Expert Village to help you choose the right
pet. In this segment we are going to discuss who the pet is for. Is it for yourself, is
it for your children, is it for your wife, is it for your grandparents, or is it for
a friend? All of these questions need to be answered before you choose the pet that is
right for you. The first thing is that if the pet is for your child is she mature enough
to be able to take care of the pet? Do they have allergies? Are they afraid of the pet?
All of these questions need to be answered also. We need to fact find these and find
out the answers. If your child is afraid of a pet, obviously that is not the pet for them.
Every pet that you get needs attention, needs love and needs care. What I would recommend
doing is going to your local pet shop, taking your child with you, having them pick out
the animal that they want. You need to go there a couple of times. The child can see
it, hold it play with it, and love it or he may be afraid of it. The child might say oh
I really want a snake, but when he gets to the pet store and he grabs the snake he may
not want to hold the snake. If he does not want to hold the snake, that is not the pet
for you.
