Hey, guys! Naomi here with your Fix for Wednesday, September 28th.
New details about the upcoming Syndicate remake are finally surfacing. EA confirmed the title’s
release date, marking it down for February 21st, 2012 here in the states and the 24th
in Europe. EA claims the goal of the reboot is to “provide
a challenging action-shooter for today’s gamers as well as fans of the original.”
So, What do you think, gamers? Would you play a Syndicate FPS? Or would you rather it stay
true to the original? Sound off in the comments section below.
With Bioware’s Star Wars: The Old Republic ready to launch before the end of the year,
all eyes will be on BlizzCon next month to see whether Blizzard’s new MMO, Titan can
stack up against the competition. According to Billy Pidgeon, that may just happen. The
M2 research analyst is predicting that Blizzards new MMO will make an appearance, along with
a Diablo 3 release date, and possibly even some new IP’s. BlizzCon takes place next
month, October 21st and 22nd in Anaheim, CA. In other game announcement news, the beautifully
animated Shank is getting a sequel. Called Shank 2: Embrace the Savagery, the sequel
will apparently feature gameplay rebuilt from the ground up. This time around, it’s all
about chaining together brutal combos to rack up the most points possible. The game is sounding
slicker than ever and is currently scheduled for release on PSN and Xbox Live sometime
next year. In DLC news, Gran Turismo 5 is finally receiving
that Spec 2.0 update that everyone’s been asking for. Series producer Kazunori Yamauchi
says it’s coming the third week of November and that it should include new features and
content. Stay tuned to IGN for details regarding the update when it arrives.
Finally, in tech news, Amazon revealed their new line of tablets today, including a revised
Kindle, a new Kindle Touch with Free 3G and the real bombshell -- the Android powered
Kindle Fire. The Fire has a 7-inch screen, a dual-core processor, and access to all of
Amazon’s digital offerings. This includes free cloud storage, access to
Amazon’s Instant Video service, the Amazon Appstore, and Amazon MP3, in addition to magazines
and the Kindle Bookstore. Along with 8 gigabytes of storage it boasts an 8 our battery life
and a two-hundred dollar price tag. What do you think, Fixers? iPad killer or lame wanna-be?
