Oh hello again!... and if you're seeing me for
the first time, then just... Hello! I'm Rebecca
Ahn, and this is the Productive Artist.
First, I wanna say thank you for all the great comments
and ideas you've all been sharing on my last video.
It's so great to hear more about all of you,
and what you think an artist is. So thank you
for all of your awesome input. In my last video, I started to answer your question,
"What is The Productive Artist" by first asking you the question,
"What is an Artist?" So in this video,
I wanna ask you the second half of that question, to more fully answer
your question.
... say that 10 times fast! Now that we have a sense of what it means to be an Artist,
here's the second question: Can you be
more Productive? We all want to be more productive in our lives - achieve more,
earn more, get more done in a day - but how do we do that while we're busy creating,
without restricting the reach of our creativity?
Well the great news is
that is Artists today, we have the power to do more than just push the envelope
and what an Artist is.
(What a weird phrase! How exactly does one
"push the envelope"?)
We also have the opportunity to redefine the value of the Arts
in today's modern world economy. And if you want to succeed in your field
of the Arts,
then this is a challenge you will have to face. So then the question becomes,
how the heck do you do that? How do you make sure
that your creations offer a real tangible value add to your target
customers
and your marketplace? And how do you do that while continuing to grow and sustain
your artistic vision
and manage the chaos that comes with your creativity?
Okay, now I will give you an answer. Because I do believe all
this is entirely achievable, and I wanna help show you how!
So here's being a Productive Artist
is all about: It's about understanding your Art is a business,
and where it fits into the marketplace, and then creating the structure
and the systems that will help you build and grow that business
into a solvent success. I know,
you're probably wondering who the hell am I to be telling you all this.
And I want you to know more about how I know more about all this!
Well, it's simple really. I am someone who understands.
I understand the Arts and I understand
Artists like you and me. But I also understand business
and the marketplace, and the business of being an Artist.
I've spent most of my life fascinated by the line between
art and business. I was convinced there was a more Productive way we could
combine the two.
So I spent years working and
testing and walking that line, to develop new ways
we could do just that! And what I found
was a way to enhance what we already do
so that we can create the business and the life
that we want as creative entrepreneurs. That's why I started the Productive
Artist -
to share what I've learned with all of you, so you too
can benefit from all these exciting new models and methods and tools - oh my!
So now that you know what
The Productive Artist is all about, and what I think it means to be a
Productive Artist,
tell me what you think about all this. Do you agree with me?
Do you think I've got the right idea? Do you think it's possible,
or not? I want to know, so comment below
and tell me! You are my people,
and I'm doing this for all of you. So your thoughts and opinions are
vitally important to my quest - in fact,
you could say that your quest is my quest. That's why I'm launching my new book,
The Productive Artist's Business Plan, in just a few short weeks.
So I wanna know what you think of my mission to carve a
more Productive place for the Arts in the world economy.
Do you think it's possible, and do you want to be a part of it?!
Then stay tuned for my next video,
and my upcoming book, on how you can become a
more Productive Artist yourself. Thanks for watching!
Until next time, stay cool, stay creative,
and keep on chuggin'.
Sign off montage! Until next time,
stay cool, stay creative, stay awesome!
... stay creative, stay crazy,
cool - stay crazy. Catch you on the flip side.
Catch ya later. Peace out yo!
Whaaaaat? Uh!
This is really tight on my arm. I got big buff arms,
they make it really hard to wear tiny sleeves. So tight -
cuts off ze circulation!
*sigh* :) Okay.
