Hello! Today I'm painting in my sketchbook, and doing an Artist master study on - Agnes
Cecile.
Hello and welcome to another episode of 'The JENuine ARTicle', I'm Jen, and today I'm going
to be doing an artist master study.
Now you're probably thinking, what is an artist master study? Well basically, it's where you
find an artist that you absolutely adore, that you think is a master and then you do
some research and then you find out how they do their techniques and style,
then you copy from them.
Long established master painters are an excellent way to learn, because they are experts in
composition and lighting and form, so by doing a master study you are learning from the greats,
and will hopefully find some skills you can use in your own style.
So traditionally, these studies are supposed to be done on artists who are long established
masters, who are long gone, but I decided to do my study on a contemporary artist that
I absolutely love, and she is Agnes Cecile.
I'm sure most of you guys are probably aware of Agnes Cecile's artwork, but for those of
you that aren't she is a self taught Italian painter best known for her beautiful combination
of emotive realistic faces and abstract flowing dripping elements.
She has a huge following on social media, 240k to be exact, and I actually came to know
about her through her youtube speed painting channel, which I will leave a link for so
you can go and check it out.
So to start, I made a list of all the elements that I could see that make up her distinctive
style, and then tried to combine these elements into my own composition.
Thank you so much for watching, I hope you liked this video. If you did, please like
and subscribe. If you missed last week's episode I'm gonna leave a link to it just over here
so you can go check it out. For all the latest news you can follow me on facebook, instagram
and tumblr and I will leave all the links for that below in the description.
I'll see you guys next week! Bye!
