Hello Youtube and welcome back to fireCrochet. Single.
The relationship status that we like to think empowers us but really, is just depressing.
Luckily, today we are not talking about relationship status, we are talking about the single crochet
stitch Unlike the last two lessons I put up, with
this stitch you can actually do something with it.
You could make a thing! Look! I made a thing! This is another one of those 'once you get
the hang of it it's super simple' kind of things so let's not waste any time, let's
get to it. Okay, so I have made a foundation chain of
seven chain stitches If you've missed the tutorials on the slip
knot or the chain stitches, I'll link them up here.
Now this was kind of confusing when I first started because I was like, "okay, if I'm
starting on the first chain do I go in the one I'm already in?" No.
Go to the first free chain you have, which is this one right here
Put your hook through, you're gonna yarn over and pull that through that first loop. Now
you're gonna have two loops on your hook. You're gonna yarn over again and pull through
both. And tada! You have just made your very first single crochet.
Now we're gonna keep going along the chain So stick it through the top loop, pull through
Yarn over and pull through again You now have two single crochets
And we'll keep going Tada! You made a thing!
One last thing I'm going to cover in this video is turning
Umm because when you turn your work around to go working into the next section, you're
going to want to, for a single crochet, make one chain before you start.
Now from here you're going to go into that first chain again, but this time you're going
to go through both loops. and so on and so forth.
So that's it my happy little hookers, go practice your stitches, make a thing and I will see
you next time.
