For those of us over 40
there are much smarter ways to use your sofa!
Hello, I'm Steve.
Today I would like to explain Sofa Stretching.
For those of us in our 40's
we start to feel pain in different parts of our bodies.
As I approached 40 years old
I started waking up with lower back pain
and my body was very tight in the morning.
I wondered what I could do to feel better...
I did not want to "fix" the situation with meds or pain killers.
That's when I learned about Sofa Stretching.
I'd like to share with you what helped me.
There are many types of sofas / armchairs
but they can all be used to stretch in a similar way.
Tightness in areas like your quads, hamstrings and hips
will all lead to the pain you feel in your lower back.
So, let's start with a quad stretch.
Begin by pivoting your right leg down into the sofa.
Then push your butt down and forward to feel the stretch in the right quad.
Do the opposite side as well in the same manner.
That feels really good...
Next...
let's use the armrests to stretch our hips.
Fold your right leg on top of the armrest.
Now slowly bend your other knee and drop your hips down.
You will immediately feel the stretch in your hip.
Reach with your hands across the chair and feel a really great stretch!
Don't forget to do both your right and left sides.
Now let's use the armrests to stretch the hamstrings.
Straighten your leg over the armrest and reach for your toes.
Don't forget to do the other side as well.
You can certainly choose to use your sofa the traditional way...
But for those of us 40-something year olds
who are trying to stay healthy and pain-free
I recommend starting to look at your sofa in a new and productive way!
See you again and thank you for watching.
