In politics now.
Only six weeks remain until Election Day
and there's still a lot to do.
Politicians say the best way for the people to get to know them,
is through door-knocking.
The Maori Party are now on the campaign trail.
It's good to go door-knocking
because you find out where we're at for the elections.
In 2005, the Maori party had many followers
and at the 2008 election they gained another seat, Te Tai Tonga.
But there's a chance the votes will be split
because of Hone Harawira's Mana Party.
Most are voting for me, and some the party, so that's good news.
What do those behind these doors think?
I think most will support Dr Pita Sharples, because of his work.
Shane Jones from the Labour Party and Kereama Pene from Mana
will be contesting his seat.
But Pita has the numbers behind him.
The polls show that I have 60% to 70% of the votes.
He's not only campaigning for himself but also for his party,
in an effort to retain their seats.
Rapaera Tawhai, Te Karere.
