To make hakka noodles we will need:
About 4 oz of whole wheat noodles.
This packet has 12 oz and I have used one third.
I have already cooked noodles according to the package instructions
drained and then washed in cold water.
2 cups of thinly sliced cabbage
1 cup of thinly sliced bell pepper
I have used different color bell peppers just to give the color.
1/2 cup of shredded carrots
1/2 cup of chopped french green beans
2 tablespoons of oil
1 tablespoon of chopped ginger
3 tablespoons of soya sauce
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
2 tablespoons of chilli sauce
I am ready to make the hakka noodles.
Traditionally vegetables are tossed while cooking.
I find it's easier just to stir fry.
It should be cooked on high heat.
Heat is on.
So first I will add the oil.
Ginger
Green beans
Just stir fry for about half a minute.
And now add the other vegetables.
Vegetables should be slightly cooked
but they should still crunchy.
So we are just going to cook them for about 2 minutes.
So all these vegetables have a really nice color.
Just pick up and lift.
Basically we are trying to saute the vegetables.
This has been about 2 minutes.
So I will put the noodles.
And I have broken the noodles before I cooked
because then it's easier to eat and serve.
And add the rest of the ingredients.
Soya sauce
Salt
Vinegar
And chilli sauce.
Mix it well.
Mix it together really well.
So I have cooked for another minute
and hakka noodles are ready to serve.
