Welcome to the community of Bay Street Corridor.
The boundaries of this community are University Avenue and Queen's Park Crescent to the west,
Bloor Street West to the north, Yonge Street to the east and Front Street to the south.
Bay Street runs through the middle of this community.
Toronto's City Hall and locus of the municipal government is located within this community
at 100 Queen Street West.
At the intersection of Queen Street West and University Avenue is the Four Seasons Centre
for the Performing Arts.
Along University Avenue are numerous medical buildings that belong to the network of hospitals
in the area.
This community is the location of Queen's Park North and Queen's Park South that bookend
the Ontario Parliament Building.
In the parks are monuments commemorating Canadian combat participation.
The TTC subway line, buses and street cars service this area extensively.
Along Yonge are many retailers including College Park Shops which also has a residential enclave
of townhomes surrounded by recently built high-rise complexes.
Located at Yonge and Bloor is a large retail stretch including a Marriot hotel and Hudson's
Bay Company.
Along Front Street is Union Station and Fairmount Royal York.
The Hockey Hall of Fame is also a landmark and tourist site location at the southern
edge of the community.
There are many professional buildings along Yonge south of Queen Street and extending
along King, Adelaide and Richmond.
Just south of Queen Street West is the Queen Street Bay, a multi-floor store connecting
directly to the Eaton's Centre and
The Path.
The Eaton's Centre is a large shopping centre and office complex and is one of downtown's
biggest tourist attractions.
Part of the complex is now Ryerson University's School of Management.
The mall has around a million visitors per week, joins the path through Queen subway
station to the south and Dundas subway station to the north and offers 330 retailors.
Other retailors in this community include the World's Biggest Bookstore and the Atrium
on Bay.
