Anchor>> The Rochester Institute of Technology held its 5th annual Freezefest this weekend.
It featured more than 30 events throughout the three-day celebration.
Last year, Freezefest won a national award for the most engaged campus. This weekend,
students and the RIT community sculpted a life-size tiger from ice, went sledding, made
crafts, sampled food and much more.
It's an event to get students and staff more involved with on-campus activities.
Griffith>> About five years ago we got the directive to have some type of festival or
event on campus to engage our students in a different way.
It's blown up, it's been so successful. We want to get the students outside of the residence
halls, get them on campus and staff to bring their families so that they can be engaged.
Just have something to do in the cold winter blues.
Anchor>> A highlight of the event is the performance of comedian John Oliver. He's a comedian and
former correspondent from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
