Hi, my name's Mike Schlappi and I'm talking to you today about hand cycles. Yes I'm definitely
am promoting safety here. If you have an intention to go you know in the woods or thirty miles
from the nearest gas station, you know you want to go out and have a day and take your
lunch with you and really get a good workout, that's fine if you've got the right equipment
and you're in shape but don't just do that with your ten year old child. You know be
with some adults, be around some people, have your cell phone with you. Make sure you know
where you're at, have some water with you all the things that common sense would tell
you to do. Well they're very stable. Again I have a real basic one when I cruise around
a flat neighborhood. I feel safe personally but I would highly recommend if you're out
in the canyons or out on the fifty mile rides or going forty miles an hour you want your
helmet on. You want you know, gloves, elbow pads, you want to be with somebody. You want
to be on the right place on the road going the right direction but you've got to be careful,
because they're stable they've got three or four wheels. They're more stable than a bicycle
just like a four wheeler. Technically more stable than a motorcycle but you still got
to be careful. If you're going twenty-five miles an hour and you know you lose a wheel
or you hit something or you have to slam on your brakes. I've had friends wreck going
thirty miles an hour and scrapped their face as they flipped over you know, you just got
to be careful. We're already hurt bad enough we don't need another injury.
