MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village. And today, we'll be discussing the
blue cards from the blue block of Magic: The Gathering. And now, we're going to go over
Time Stretch. Time Stretch is one of the most powerful blue spells ever invented; it's also
one of the most costly because of its effect. Now here, we have Time Stretch. It will cost
you eight colorless and two blue, which means its converted mana cost of 10, which means
the round that you would most likely be able to at least play this card is round 10. It's
kind of late game for duel but for multiple players it is very powerful. It's rare, out
of the basic set, as we see here from the icon. It's sorcery; it's not tribal sorcery.
That's a new term that has come out lately, but this is just our standard sorcery. And
here, we have the reason it costs so much. The reason it costs so much is because target
player, i.e., most likely yourself, takes two extra turns after this one which means
you can complete this turn and then take two more turns after this turn, which means your
opponent gets to sit there for three turns and not have the ability to do anything. So
if you attack this turn and you killed off blockers then next turn your men would automatically
get through and then the following turn your men will automatically get through. The reason
you would play this is because you get two free turns. These turns are very, very essential
because then your opponent does not have the chance to retaliate after your turn and you
get to untap and play abilities three times before your opponent gets their next turn.
