Rise and shine! This is K from Mad Maine
Do you want to follow me around today?
Hi there!
Everybody's hungry this morning.
Brand new open bag. Ah!
Hi Cat! What's on your agenda today?
A lot of sleeping I hear? An awful lot a bird watching you say?
I hear you. Tough day!
All right. Bye Cat.
Wow!
For October?
Awesome!
This is what I eat every morning...
Breakfast for reselling champions!
Hi there! Just ready to go for my daily morning walk.
I'll take you with me.
So, the kids are off to school - phew!
Stressful morning this morning because it was picture day
so everything had to be a little more...neater than usual
Crunching leaves.
Best sound ever!
I come here almost every day.
Here's one of my favorite rocks, aka sitting places
What a pretty day today!
So, of course right along the water edges all these huge million million
dollar houses sit, you know,
and lucky for us, I mean there's no way I would live in in one of those or
even could, but we live not far
and, you know, the coastline is free for everyone so...
Actually it's kind of funny sometimes when I say where I live and
sometimes they go "oh wow, you live there?" And I always have to say no no no no
I live in the "boxed wine section" of that place! Because what we did was
you know, we kind of followed that advice so many people give you, you know, like buy
the least expensive house
in the most expensive neighborhood you can afford
kind of thing. And yeah,
you know, the good definitely outweighs the bad because, I mean, it's just
stunning here! But let me tell you...
It's a clicky place...
For me this is the best kind of therapy. To be out and walking. Doesn't matter what kind of weather it is.
Any weather is good walking weather, it just depends on your clothes.
But for me, oh, you can have a bum day or a gloomy day but
just get out. Walk! Preferably away from people sometimes...
But, oh, this is therapy!
I'll always be partial to my own flag, of course,
but that American one is mighty handsome!
Ok, that mail has just come. Let's see if there is anything
interesting.
Nah, junk it looks like.
Well, I'm back from my walk. It was about an hour and it was a bit warmer than than I expected
Even though I checked the temperature, and I am hot.
But just a great walk! Every day! Get out and walk guys!
Okay I am about to prepare dinner
I always like to do this early in the day so that everything is done and I can just
cook it right before dinner time. Anyway, today I'm going to make
roasted chicken, and this is everything that goes into it.
It's all one type of dish which I love.
And a nice little chicken here. This is kinda important to me...
It's not really a bad price because I get at least
two meals out of this.
Potatoes, fennel. I love fennel. Turnip,
onion and carrots. All this is going to roast in the oven.
Delish!
This smells like licorice.
I love licorice. Americans don't like black licorice, usually.
The stems can be used just like celery.
I kind of cheat and almost always use baby carrots, because I eat a lot of them and
and they're just so easy to deal with. Great for kid snacks too.
So I am just going to cut these in two
and also add it to the dish.
And then the potatoes. Here are just some red potatoes, but you can use anything,
of course. And potatoes just
taste so good in this because they soak up the flavor of everything of else, so
yeah, definitely cutting up a lot of little potatoes.
Alright, all the vegetables are cut up in here and I'm going to just add some water, a little wine, and some spices,
and then put the grill on top and put the chicken on it
and that's it! Literally this thing to prepare
is less than 15 minutes. So easy, so good, so healthy!
And here it is. All ready to be covered by foil,
and I'll put it in the refrigerator. It's still morning here, so in the early afternoon
I will take this out, put in the oven and cook it on very low heat
They get the juiciest and tenderest when they're cooked
on low heat for a long time. But quick, easy
dinner prep. I wish you all could come!
This is some of the selection of all the stuff that I am taking to my
antique booth today. There's some cameras, typewriter and tiles. That bar set
and lobster buoy, thermos,
a pennant, yeah, these are
all tagged and ready to go.
This is the other thing that is getting made today:
Bread! Ooh, smells good!
Now I am on my way to my antique booth
and I will check in very soon.
Radio (NPR) is on.
I am here at my antique mall, in the parking lot.
I don't know how people do these videos in the car. I guess they have a stand or
something cuz
it hard to hold the phone
and talk on the video camera on your phone
I also wanted to clarify that today is not sort of
the most normal day in my life because, you know,
I'm not working my regular job today. I just did some invoices this morning but
I'm not doing any
projects, and I do have another job that I typically also have to
fit in here during the daytime, but not today,
I didn't take on any projects and so that means that I get to do
other things like coming here to my antique booth today
and I am also going to and take you to some thrift stores later on.
And, yeah, and I'll see
how many people are inside, and if there's not that many people inside, I'm gonna try
to film a little bit
inside the antique mall. But when there's people there, it's not really a good idea, so
all right, I'll talk to you soon!
Alright,
I am done at the antique mall
and I am heading home. My kids should be coming home from school soon
so I will check in later. Bye!
Okay, dinner is out of the oven.
It is done. The white stuff is actually pretzel salt. It tastes really good
on the skin of chicken, if you have any leftover
And, yeah, dinner is served!
Alright, it is after dinner, and my gang has actually gone off camping for the weekend so
I get to have a day of my own
So anyway, that's gonna be tomorrow, but now I am here at Goodwill
and it's a very small one and I can
usually get in and out of this one in about five minutes.
so yeah, let's see!
Well, it wasn't that much in there, but I got this sort of rustic
iron menorah thing here for 2 dollars and just a little tin for 50 cents
with Stroopwafel. I think that's how you pronounce it.
Dutch yummy stuff! And then just a couple of mugs, you know, and stuff that's going
in my booth,
and it all fit into this little 99-cent pretty little photo box.
So, alright, next stop.
Here is my other much, much larger trusted Goodwill. So, I have about 45 minutes before it closes
so let's see what I can find!
My downfall.
Made in Sweden, but 15 dollars???
Okay, so anyway
That was the big ol' Goodwill close to me
and I got a few little things. It wasn't anything great at all
I also got this old-fashioned desk lamp
a little dusty there, but it's kinda cool-looking. It says 1979 underneath it
and it was only 1 dollar and 99 cents. Let me take some of the stuff out of the bag and I'll show you.
Alright, so, I got three kids books and they are going to go to my kids.
I got some stained silverplate stuff, but I use those to make this kind of little
Halloween decorations, and I'm thinking of putting some those in my booth this year
so I might
make a video about that. Got this for 99 cents. It's a little
enamel pot, very cute and nice
green color, and finally I got this, which is very nice because it is
from
Arabia, Finland. It's a quite large jug.
It's a little crazed, but, yeah, I paid $3.99.
We'll see how that does. So that was it! Alright.
Alright, it is so dark now and
it's late. I think I'm going to go to, um...
I'm going to go to Starbucks now and get a cup of coffee
and then I'm gonna go home and try to put all these video clips together.
So wish me luck! I have no idea how that's going to work out, but with a little
coffee
an empty house, I think I might be able to do it. So anyway,
I will see you soon, it's been fun
and maybe I'll do this again. Bye!
